Comisaría de Policía (Police Station)

In Spain, this is the local police headquarters where many official immigration and civil procedures are carried out. Services include fingerprinting for TIE (residence cards), issuing NIE cards for EU citizens, processing cartas de invitación (invitation letters), and autorizaciones de regreso (return authorizations). You may go to any police station within the province where you live, but you cannot complete these procedures in a different province. For example, a person residing in Barcelona must attend a police station located in the province of Barcelona, not in Girona or Tarragona.
