Student Visa

The Student Visa (Autorización de Estancia por Estudios) is a stay permit (not residency) for non-EU nationals who plan to study or research at a recognized institution in Spain. It can be requested from your home country or from within Spain while on a tourist visa. There are two types: short-term (91-180 days) and long-term (over 180 days). Only long-term students need to get a TIE. After your studies, you may be eligible to switch to a Job-Seeking Visa or work permit.
